Hello Cristian, I totally agree with you when you mention that students are engaged when they are in touch with technology in classroom but they need some rules in order to use it. That's true because if technology is not used in the proper way, the class will be a mess; then, I consider that we should educate students through the process while using technology in class and establish some rules to make them aware that it is not a tool for distraction but for learning.
Hello, Cristian. Your stage university portrays my experience in my undergrad process because it is there when I started to explore digital technology deeper. In fact, I also used Edmodo throughout my bachelor’s degree. On the other hand, I would like to say that we, as educators, have a big challenge regarding the incorporation of digital technology in schools since the current education demands to train competent students at the use of it, but to carry out that, it is relevant to establish rules when it comes to use digital technology in the teaching process and we must also make students aware of the benefits that it provides us.
Cristian, yes, I remember the Novia cellphone we use to call "panela." I also agree with you and David concerning the need to teach our students to use tech properly and also to have certain rules about their use in class and in their lives. I try to do that with my kids at home, but since I teach young adults and adults, it is not always confortable to do that kind of controlling since you expect them to know how to us etech in class, but the reality is they don't. It all ends up being about students' own choinces to use tech responsibly in class.
